Team Washington - Summer 2014

Team Washington Lacrosse has been a 501c3 non-profit organization since it's inception in 1999. Team WA was developed to showcase the top high school players from the state of Washington on a national level. All rising freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to participate in the program. Each rising class will have their own team, as well as two additional joint-class teams. Team WA operates on four core philosophies:

1. The best coaches in the state: Team WA has the head coaches from Bainbridge, Bellevue, Issaquah, Lake Washington, Mercer Island, Newport, Skyline and Tahoma on their staff. Every Washington state championship in the past 15 years has been won by one of these coaches.

2. Traveling to the best tournaments in the country: The Team WA coaching staff firmly believes that the only way to get better is to play the best competition. That is why Team WA almost exclusively travels back east for all of their events, and only attends the hardest and most prestigious tournaments.

3. Coach nominated rosters: Many summer/regional travel teams will offer "open tryouts", often charging players just to attend. Team WA is exclusively "coach nominated", meaning you can only be invited to participate if your high school coach nominates you. This process eliminates the politics and profiting element of the program, while insuring the most competitive roster possible.

4. The best exposure to college coaches: A combination of the best coaches, the best players and the best tournaments, culminates with the best possible exposure for players interested in playing in college. The 8 different high school programs represented on our coaching staff has by far the largest amount of alumni playing NCAA lacrosse in college. This vast network of alumni connections and coaching relationships is the best college recruiting resource in the state of Washington.

Participation with Team Washington will not interfere or conflict with any summer high school lacrosse activities. Once the final roster of 20-22 players per class has been selected by our staff, all of the teams will practice together through June and into July. This time together will culminate with each team taking a trip to the east coast to participate in two national high school recruiting tournaments. Prior to traveling back east, Team Washington will also scrimmage local Northwest regional teams. The coaching staff for each team will be made up of the most consistently successful high school coaches in the state.
