The WHSBLA is hosting the 2017 boys lacrosse coaching clinic on January 28th, 2017 at Seattle Pacific University. This years guest speakers are John Nostrant (Haverford School - Philadelphia, PA) and Rick Brocato (St. Pauls School - Baltimore, MD). Each presenter will give three seperate clinics (45 min. each), on various topics and levels (youth, middle school, high school, offense, defense, special situations, drills, etc.), as well as a combined "open panel discussion" at the end of the convention. Both coaches bios are below.

Rick Brocato - St. Pauls School (Baltimore, MD):
Rick Brocato, has served as the varsity lacrosse head coach at St. Paul’s School (MD) for 17 years, and been a member of the School’s varsity coaching staff for over a quarter-century. Brocato’s St. Paul’s teams have compiled a 225-104 record. Entering this season at the helm, he stands just seven wins shy of tying legendary coach George Mitchell for the most wins in school history. His overall coaching record between Kent-Denver, CO and St. Paul’s stands at 244-107.
Under Brocato, the Crusaders have qualified for the playoffs 15 out of 17 years in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletics Association, the nation’s most competitive high school lacrosse conference, and reached five MIAA championship games, winning the 2004 & 2010 conference titles. He was named Baltimore Sun Coach of the Year in 1998 and 2010, and US Lacrosse Baltimore Chapter Coach of the Year in 1998 and 2010. Brocato also served as head coach of the South team for the USILA Senior North-South Game in 1996, and as head coach of the South team in the Senior Under Armour High School All-American game in 2011. During the summer of 2015, he was part of the coaching staff for the selection of the USA U-19 Team, which recently won the FILA world Championship in Coquitlam, British Columbia. While at St. Paul’s, he has coached four Hall of Famers, nineteen Major League Lacrosse professionals, two USA World Team members, seventeen NCAA Champions, forty-four All-Americans, and three Kelly Award winners.
Overall, Brocato has coached varsity lacrosse for over thirty years. He previously served as the offensive coach at St. Paul’s, for seven seasons, including the back-to-back 1991 & 1992 MSA Champions. In between stints in Brooklandville, Brocato coached at the Kent-Denver School in Colorado, and three seasons as the offensive coach at Boys’ Latin, including the 2002 MIAA title winners.
John Nostrant - Haverford School (Philadelphia, PA):
John Nostrant is the Athletic Director and Head Coach at The Haverford School. As a player, Coach Nostrant was a 3-time All-American midfielder at Washington College and a 2-time All-Pro player for the Philadelphia Wings and the Baltimore Thunder. Coach Nostrant has served as the head coach of The Haverford School since 1991, winning more than 300 games. Coach Nostrant has coached 36 high school All-Americans, 13 Inter-Ac title teams, 4 Inter-Ac tournament title teams, 2 state championship teams (2000 and 2005), and 2 undefeated national championship teams in 2011 and 2015. He also served as an assistant coach for the USA U-19 world team which won the gold medal in 2008.
