First Round

From Paris With Love, Woodinville Drops Hale 11-5

It was a close first half between the Raiders and Falcons.  However, Woodinville showed why they are still undefeated and pulled away in the second half. Both teams opened with high energy for the first round of the playoffs.  They exchanged goals with neither team gaining any substantial momentum.  It was tied up at 2-2 to end the first quarter.  The second quarter started back-and-forth across the midfield line as neither team could control tempo.  Woodinville missed several opportunities, but errant passes and missed shots led to turnovers.  On their defensive end, Trevor Brown was a standout as a long pole, forcing turnovers and clearing the ball. Nathan Hale's Will Snider scored the equalizer at 3-3 at halftime.  As the third quarter got underway, Hale came out with some energy and started to press the Falcons on offense.  However, freshman Falcon standout Daniel McKee put his team on his back as he capped off his hat trick.  Hale got a two man EMO and capitalized.  The clearing game of both teams were weak preventing any tempo control.  Woodinville led 7-5 at the end of the third quarter.  To open up the final quarter, long pole Clemens Mitchell took the ball coast-to-coast and scored, pushing the Falcon lead.  Tyler Paris emerged as the hot player on the night as he continued to rip shots and dish out assists.  TO end the game Hale drew an unsportsmanlike and the player was ejected for fighting.  Despite the hot tempers and the sizable win by the Falcons, Hale was gracious and humble in defeat. Woodinville locked up their first win of the playoffs 11-5 and move on to play the winner of North County and Highline.
