Providence Beats Lake Washington 5-3
This inter-division game featured some surprises. LW's Jake and Cody Bernstein sat out the game and took on the role of coaches. The switch allowed for more of the LW bench to get playing time while providing the two brothers with some perspective and lessons from the sideline. Providence scored the first goal from on some nice dodging from Ryan Morris in the first quarter. No team would score for the rest of the half. Unsettled play, especially on the Kangs side of the ball led to frequent turnovers. In the third quarter the Highlanders got some momentum and found the net taking a 3-2 lead at the end of the quarter. Both teams fought hard back-and-forth. The Kangs refocused and made a comeback. Ben Anderson scored the equalizer at the 11 minute mark in the fourth quarter. Providence took a one goal lead with less than five remaining and with less than two minutes remaining it was Highlander ball. A mental mistake of stepping out the box, gave the ball to the Kangs fro a last gasp to tie the game. However, some poor shots, good checks and a few ground ball scrums later found Providence with the ball in transition. The scored the deal breaker with under a minute to play and locked up the win 5-3.

Puyallup Gets First Win Over Vashon 16-14
Puyallup scored four unanswered goals at the end of the third quarter and early in the fourth to pull away from Vashon for a 16 to 14 victory at the Vultures home field. Despite Luke Hembree's incredible nine goals in a career night, and Dan Lofland's 10 assists, every time the Vultures closed the gap Puyallup would find a way to maintain their lead. Robert Abbott had a career night at the face off X as well, winning 26 of 28 draws and grabbing 28 ground balls to help Puyallup maintain possession and put pressure on the Vashon defense. In a back and forth first half, Puyallup held a slight edge 6-5 at the intermission. After Hembree tied it at 10 midway through the third quarter Abbott found Dean Morris on the crease with a laser feed for the go-ahead goal at the 2 min. 20 Mark. 33 seconds later Abbott found Alex Moyer for his second of the night followed by another goal by senior Morris 40 seconds after that to close out the third. After Robert Abbott opened the fourth with an unassisted dodge from up top to put Puyallup on top by four, the Panthers and the Vultures then traded goals until late when Hembree closed out the scoring with two goals in the last minute of the game.

Division II
Woodinville Wins Close One 9-8 Over Providence
In a Cascade conference match-up, the Falcons pulled out a close win over rival Providence. The game resembled a diesel engine, starting slow in the first half and then firing on all cylinders in the second. The Highlanders came out strong with goals from Oliver and Hayden Thomas leading a five goal lead in the first quarter. The Falcon defense was caught by surprise. There was a large crowd for both teams on hand that added to the importance of the game. The second quarter was the doldrums, neither team scored any points as turnovers, poor clears created a back-and-forth game. The halftime score was 5-0 Highlander leader. Action opened in the third quarter with Providence drawing numerous penalties, which would be their Achilles' heel all night. Woodinville's freshman standout Daniel McKee led his team with the comeback. They were knocked back into the game after an illegal hit on Falcon attackman Britt Sanders led to some harsh words and penalty for the Highlanders. Sanders struck on the EMO ignited his team into frenzy. Simultaneously, Providence's school cheerleaders showed up bringing a boisterous crowd into the game. The Falcons battled back swinging momentum their way. Tyler Paris scored Woodinville's equalizer at five. However, the game became neck and neck for the rest of the game as Providence led 7-6 at the end of the third quarter. McKee became the go-to player for Woodinville as he became the team's point leader. A quiet JD Chapman exploded in the fourth quarter bull dodging his way to the net. He tied up the game at eight and then scored again with two minutes remaining to give his team a 9-8 lead. During the next face-off Providence came up with possession and settled with time ticking away. They got an EMO with 11 seconds remaining. Woodinville's defense stepped up after a poor first half and killed the penalty cementing the 9-8 win.

Snohomish Beats Everett 15-7

By Dave Dunlap
Everett came out strong, by jumping on Snohomish fast and early. They came out to a quick 4-2 lead, behind three early goals from Ian Strong. The lead would last only until the beginning of the second quarter. Snohomish put aside its early sloppy play, woke up and proceeded to rip off 6 unanswered goals to lead 9-4 at halftime. Snohomish continued the blitz in the third period and into fourth, rattling the cage 4 more times extending their lead to 13-4, led by Devin Remlinger (3goals, 2 assist) and Josh Pedersen (3 goals) Everett would not score again until 3 minutes left in the game when Strong got back on the score board with his fourth of the game. The defense for Everett did not help their goalie who did his best with 14 saves, while Perley from Snohomish chipped in with 9 saves of his own.
