More action here, lots of Division II teams are getting underway. There are more games today and this weekend. Sammamish and Snohomish racked up 35 goals between the two just last night.

Tigers Eat Lions- Stadium over Lakeside 10-1

TACOMA-The bipolar spring weather eased for the season opener of the Stadium Tigers as they hosted Lakeside School at Mason Middle School. The game began with solid Lions' offensive possession. The scored early into the first quarter with a shot from freshman Will Rambin. Stadium continued to dominate possession time, but Lakeside goalie Peter Scott made seven saves in the first quarter. Stadium's Patrick Holcomb scored near the end of the quarter. Stadium's defense, led by senior defenseman Kevin Park, was quick and caused turnovers as Lakeside had no answer offensive production. The second quarter progressed the same way. Lakeside's Scott came up with 4 more saves quarter as Stadium continued to grind away. The first half ended with Stadium leading 4-0.
The third quarter was back-and-forth and then Stadium's offense went on a scoring run. Holcomb scored his second goal, followed by a goal from Kurt Pohs and Givanni Natalizio netted his second. The final quarter began with a Lakeside stick penalty. Stadium capitalized on the EMO from Seth Oberst. Lakeside's offense continued to falter as Stadium's defense held strong and controlled game tempo. Stadium added some transition defensive goals by defenseman JP Faulk and Aaron Park. A late goal by Lakeside junior captain Keaton Santi would give bust the pending ‘goose egg’. Stadium held the ball for the last two minutes, winning 10-1.

Boys Division II
North Kitsapedges South in boys lacrosse
POULSBO – Duncan Hack scored 2 goals and collected 10 ground balls to help North Kitsap to an 8 – 6 boys Division II high school lacrosse win over rival South Kitsap, Thursday at Strawberry Park in Poulsbo. Chazz Zacroff had 10 saves in goal for North. Dylan Wilson and Kellen Kennedy each had 2 goals and Ben Landry had 21 saves in goal for South in the loss.

Sammamish dominates Mt. Si in boys lacrosse
BELLEVUE– Tyvan Schmidt scored 6 goals to lift Sammamish to an 18 – 2 boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Mt. Si, Thursday at Bellevue’s Interlake High School. Sammamish jumped out to an early 6 – 1 lead in the first quarter, only to extend it to 9 – 1 at the half. In the second half, Mt. Si only managed to find the net once more as Sammamish cruised to the win. Matt Young had an assist and 13 ground balls for Sammamish.

*Coach’s Note: Sammamish Senior Captain Brian Headland tallied 2G, 4A and there was only five penalties total in a well officiated game.
Snohomish runs past Stanwood in boys lacrosse
SNOHOMISH – Austin Tippett connected for 5 goals and 2 assists as Snohomish ran to a 17 – 5 boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Stanwood, Thursday at Glacier Peak High School. Snohomish jumped out to an early 7 – 1 lead in the first, only to extend their advantage to 12 – 3 at the half. In the second half, Stanwood managed just 2 additional goals as Snohomish cruised to the win. Davyd Powell had 11 ground balls and Tucker Cooper had 6 saves in goals for Snohomish in the win. Five Stanwood players connected for solo shots in the loss.
